Can Apple make newspapers cool?
I think if anything can, this marriage between Apple’s iPad and Rupert Murdoch’s The Times newspaper is well-placed in terms of their marketing and branding… both offer products and services that aren’t competitive on price but sell a lifestyle that (if successfully authentic and value-added) people will be happy to pay for.

Notion Ink’s Adam is a direct competitor to the Apple iPad. Backed by Reliance and already sold out online, it professes to better the iPad in price and multi-tasking/app-ing. As many a wiser blogger has said about the Adam: good on India to produce a tablet that is more accessible than the iPad, let’s hope it lives up to it’s hype, pre-order organisational issues notwithstanding… Also, what ever happened to Yves Behar’s US$75  One Laptop Per Child Tablet? 2012 is a bit of a long wait…

99% asks whether the iPad’s inability to multitask is all that bad a thing… focused “uni-tasking” might actually force people to increase self-discipline and productivity of a certain task… we are obsessed with being able to view more, consume more media, do more things at once to be more productive but maybe being more efficient on 1 task at-hand yields better results…
